What if we taught people how they sell before we taught them how to sell? When someone joins a hospitality sales team, we teach them the venue, the systems, the enquiry process, the products and, of course, the sales skills. But how much time do we spend helping them understand themselves? Why does one person naturally pick up the phone while another needs more confidence? Why is one brilliant at building relationships but uncomfortable asking for the business? Why does another give every detail when their customer simply wants the headlines? This is why I'm particularly interested in using Clarity4D with apprentices, new starters and people beginning their careers in hospitality. It helps people understand their natural communication and selling preferences, recognise the strengths they already have and learn when they may need to adapt. Not to turn them into somebody else. To help them become a more confident version of themselves. We need to teach great sales skills – but perhaps understanding how you naturally communicate and connect is a pretty good place to start. What do you think? Lets learn and grow together. Jo
