We all know how important communication is. In business, I have heard it described as the golden thread that pulls everything together.
But just how straightforward is it to effectively communicate with a team who take turns between working from home, the office or on the road? Here are a few of our top tips. 1 - Embrace technology - Teams, Zoom, Outlook, Microsoft Bookings, Asana etc. These tools are all here to help us and the good news is that most of them are free or have a free version. 2 - Set business review dates, 1:1's and any other important meetings well in advance and keep to them. This allows everyone to plan their diaries and focus on the things that really matter. 3 - Be consistent and use an agenda. This will help your team to prepare and ensures that important information and knowledge is shared in the right way reassuring the team and preventing frustrations and mistakes. 4 - Depending on the size of your team - conduct daily or weekly check in calls to see how the team are doing and how you can help them to be successful. 5 - Two way communication helps you become an inclusive leader. Give and seek feedback from your team and peers - it's a gift. What techniques work for you? Let us know. Look forward to hearing from you. Jo
